Fantastic Support From A Wedding Party
Link Up would like to give a huge thank you to all who donated to us via the wedding of of the sister of one of our members. Adam and Lucy Hemming who were married on the Wirral the 5th of September, both live in Singapore having met in London several years ago. Lucy’s home town is Chester and her brother James Harding is an active member of the Linkup club. They both decided not to have a traditional wedding gift list but chose instead to create a web page on the Just Giving site, to raise money for the Linkup Club/Dance FX. They have raised nearly £3,000 and are hoping for a few late contributions. Lucy Says "The Linkup Club is such a good cause, it is a really inspiring place giving people with a disability a real sense of independence. I was blown away by James’s saxophone performance (see video link) at the open day and the level of organization which had clearly gone into making the open day such a huge success. I’m thrilled we chose not to have a wedding list and chose the Linkup club as our wedding charity. Hopefully this will be the start of lots of donations now that the Linkup/Dance FX have their own page on Just Giving"
The money will be used to support Link Up on activities in particular those members who might not be able to afford a certain activity or to subsidise activities that are expensive.
